Because Melissa Tweets and writes prompts from it A LOT, and it's such an AU 'verse, here's a better run down of the Four Quartets 'verse with Adam, Peter, Sylar, Lydia & Samuel.

Who am I to you?

One simple question, maybe a not so simple answer?

[OOC: Fake screened, because real screening is a pain in my ass. ]

[ooc: Even though we haven't gotten them there in actual play, yet, mun is going to assume they've made it to the carnival for purposes of leaving gift. >.>]

Getting away from the carnival to gift shop isn't the easiest thing to do, especially when she can't really use her credit cards anymore, nor does she necessarily have her old job, and doesn't feel right asking Samuel for money, or Sylar to turn something to gold for his own present. But it turns out there are amazing craftsmen in the carnival, and others with just the gifts she needs as well. Smug, Melissa manages a collaboration, with sketches she remembers from art history classes, and a quick internet cafe visit for the three of them into town for some research time one afternoon. By the time the day comes, they've managed it.

It's iron, not bronze, but it works--in theory--and she's pleased. He needs things that challenge him, things to distract him from all the ticking in the heads around them now, things to fiddle with, figure out how they work, and this...well. This gives him the whole universe to work with, and out here away from the cities, when the lights go out for the evening? Well, they've got the sky for it, that's for sure.

Several of the carnies have telescopes, so she didn't bother with that--it's share and share alike around here, and no one's ever got them all in use unless there's a meteor shower going on, and even then, everyone takes turns looking, she's been assured. If he wants a closer look, he can have that. No, what she's had made, with careful precision from ancient digs around the world, and so many finds, is an iron astrolabe:

( Image under cut )

It's wrapped in a box, with a note attached:

I know we've pulled ourselves out of the world, and into one that has to be as difficult as it is fascinating for you sometimes. I thought maybe this would help open up the mysteries and wonders of another one to help. Maybe once you figure out how to work it--and I've no doubt you will--you can show all you're learning to me.

I love you. Happy birthday.

They say still waters run deep, but they have no idea how much of a lie the calmness is, because if Melissa allowed everything she felt to show--from inside herself, and from others--the world around her would dissolve into a emotional maelstrom.

You Were An Owl

You are stealthy and secretive - no one knows the true you.
You are a seeker of freedom, and you are comfortable with your dark side.

"It is a sin to believe evil of others, but it is seldom a mistake." - H. L. Mencken

After such a cloudy day, the sunset was a beautiful thing to watch. Melissa positioned herself to catch its rays sinking behind skyscrapers, stretching out over fluttering leafbuds, sparkling on the water of the fountain. This was what she'd needed, a day out, away from everyone else, away from the world that threatened to consume everything, doing something just for her. She flipped to black and white, capturing some of the sparkles on the water with an adjustment of the lens and found herself almost humming in contentment.

The light disappeared into the gloaming, holding there for a few moments, before the streetlights meant to keep the park "safe" (a laughable idea, at night) sparked to life, and made the reaching shadows that had felt so kind in twilight into dancing things that could hold monsters. With a sigh, Melissa set her camera down on the park bench and untied the sweatshirt around her waist, shrugging it over the tank top she'd been basking in all day. The lack of the sun brought a chill, and the warmth was welcome. She slung her camera strap back over her shoulder and cast a glance toward the path that would take her to the subway line she needed to get home. Tonight wasn't a night for a cab, for being that girl. Tonight--all day today, really--had been for her, just her, with no name attached, no family to work for, no demands upon her. That sort of girl took the subway when she wasn't going out for the night, and that was Melissa's plan.

( She was hungry, though, and while food beckoned at home, there was a killer Ethiopian place on the other side of the park, just a few blocks down. )

2. Your least favorite.
3. One that makes you automatically think of me.

1 question...
1 chance...
1 honest answer...

That's all you get. Ask me one question. Any one question, anything, no matter how crazy it is. An honest answer. No catch.

All comments will be screened so your question stays private between you and me, and only you will get to see my answer to your question. But I dare you to repost this and see what people ask you.

You Are an Angel of Death

You tend to have a dark sense of humor, but you are not as morbid as some people would expect.
You are bold and courageous. You're willing to do what others won't do... and to face what others won't face.

You are very observant and wise. You have amazing insight into other people's lives, but they are also scared of what you know.
You are eccentric, extremely quirky, and a bit of a loner. You have unusual interests that others don't share.

1. Melissa likes to stand in front of 33 children banging her head against a metaphorical, and literal, brick wall. (Why the hell would I like that? - though if I had 33 children around me I probably WOULD, but I wouldn't LIKE it)
2. Melissa likes to motivate her clients by giving them intense and diverse workouts. (err...yeah)
3. Melissa likes a ground fresh, fertile, deep, hot and light and she fears the too heavy and too wet grounds particularly. (I got nothing)
4. Melissa likes to spend her spare time horseback riding and enjoying the outdoors with her friends and family. (...sure I do)
5. Melissa likes to play the field, but that doesn't make her a bad person. (I'm so glad we can take moral judgments from Google)
6. Melissa likes to do skydiving, base jumping and rock climbing. (Uh, masochist, not adrenaline junkie. Though rock climbing's fun)
7. Melissa likes to date bad boys. (Well, yes. I think we've established this.)
8. Melissa likes pancakes. (Who doesn't?)
9. Melissa likes to use a documentary approach to her photography work, but she also enjoys the challenge of creating imagery from a concept or idea. (Now that's just creepy)
10. Melissa likes sneaky, butt-kicking half-elves. (I don't know that I'd call Devin sneaky...)
11. Melissa likes to wear waterproof mascara and leather boots. (Well, now, again--who doesn't?)
12. Melissa likes a partner who is mentally alive and keeps her guessing. (As opposed to mentally dead...?)
13. Melissa likes to have a man who's nearby. (Well, that's generally more convenient than one far away)
14. Melissa likes to give back, too. (I'm a giver, yep)
